18 Nations Unite in Official Agreement to Prevent AI Misuse
Addressing the challenge of curbing the misuse of advanced artificial intelligence capabilities has become a significant global concern.
On Monday, the United States, Germany, and 16 other nations officially entered into an agreement to prevent the inappropriate use of artificial intelligence.
The comprehensive 20-page document emphasizes security issues and outlines general guidelines. A key focus of the agreement is ensuring "security measures by AI developers for consumers and the public."
Jen Easterly, Director of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, stated that this marks a shift from merely considering market features to prioritizing security.
It’s noteworthy, however, that the agreement is non-binding and primarily consists of general recommendations. Other partner countries include the United Kingdom, Italy, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland, Australia, Chile, Israel, Nigeria, and Singapore.
