Apple Maps follows Google in renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America only in U.S.

Apple Maps has followed in Google Maps' footsteps and officially renamed the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America” for U.S. users, following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump.
Apple made this change on Tuesday, February 11, a day after Google formally changed the name.
The executive order, titled "Restoring Names That Honour American Greatness," was issued on January 20 and mandates the renaming of the oceanic basin shared by the United States, Mexico, and Cuba.
In defending the decision, Trump asserted that the U.S. contributes the “most work” in the Gulf, declaring, “It’s ours.”
In response, Google updated its maps for American users, though users in Mexico will continue to see “Gulf of Mexico.” Globally, users outside these countries will see both names displayed.
“As we announced two weeks ago and consistent with our longstanding practices, we’ve begun rolling out changes to reflect this update,” the company announced on February 10.
Additionally, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed its adoption of the new name, committing to update relevant data and charts accordingly.
