Military take over in Bangladesh after deadly unrest: video

Military personnel have been deployed in Bangladesh to tackle deadly protests that have killed at least 105 people.

This comes after police failed to quell the situation. A curfew has also been announced in the capital.

The clashes were between student protesters and police. Student protesters set fire to a jail in the central Bangladeshi district of Narsingdi after storming the place and freeing inmates.

Local reports indicate that police fired tear gas into the crowd and some student mobs attacked police officers.

Protesters want the government to stop setting aside 30 percent of government jobs for the families of those who fought for independence from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, all public gatherings were banned and authorities cut some mobile telephone services.
