Bodies tied up inside a train recovered in Mexico: Video

Authorities in Guadalajara reported Tuesday that three bodies, including two men and a woman, were discovered inside a train car late Monday night.

The bodies, showing signs of violence and tied up, were found after police were alerted to a noise in the train, which led to its stop in a central area of the city.

Emergency services conducted a car-by-car inspection of the train, which had come to a halt in Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco state. The victims were wrapped in blankets with their faces covered.

Two of the bodies were found on top of cargo in a gondola car, while the third was in a different gondola car. Authorities believe the victims had been dead for several hours.

The train had been travelling from Nayarit. The bodies were taken to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) in Guadalajara for further examination.

Since the federal government's anti-drug offensive began in December 2006, Mexico has experienced over 450,000 murders and about 100,000 disappearances, according to official figures.
