Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Friday the world trading system is facing "severe challenges", as he met with a group of foreign executives in Beijing. "Multilateralism and free trade are facing severe challenges," Xi told business leaders, adding that "unilateralism and protectionism are intensifying.
