The emergence of credit cards has made payment for goods and services seamless in any part of the world.
Despite the popularity of this card, some countries use it for almost everything including the most basic things.
According to the World Bank, Canada is the world's biggest user of credit cards, with 82.74% of the population owning one.
With 79.05% of its population having a credit card, Israel is second on the global list.
For Iceland, only 74% of its population uses credit cards to pay for goods and services.
Hong Kong, Japan and Switzerland's populations of 71.63%, 69.66% and 69.21% respectively own and use credit cards.
These trends are driven by advanced financial systems, changing consumer habits, and the increasing dependence on digital payments, particularly in e-commerce.
