Ethiopia-Germany ties

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia and Chancellor Olaf Scholz of Germany, during a bilateral meeting, cemented the existing bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Germany. The meeting focused on elevating cooperation in economic, trade, and investment areas. Prime Minister Abiy highlighted measures to end conflicts and emphasized the government's commitment to lasting peace. Ethiopia-Djibouti MoU

Ethiopia and Djibouti have signed an MoU to cooperate in Defense and Security. The signing occurred on the second day of the 10th Defense Experts Committee Meeting. The 10th Ethiopia-Djibouti Defense Experts joint committee meeting, which began on Sunday, focused on enhancing collaboration in defense and security between the two nations, as reported by local media Fana Broadcasting Corporation. This collaborative effort signifies a step forward in strengthening ties between Ethiopia and Djibouti in defense and security matters.

Ethio-Cuban Friendship Square

The Vice President of Cuba, President Salvador Antonio Valdés laid a wreath at the Ethio-Cuba Friendship Square in memory of the Cuban soldiers who fell on the side of Ethiopian soldiers. The Vice President said the Ethiopian-Cuban relationship is historical and forever linked with sacrifices of brotherhood. He pointed out that the Cuban soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1977–78 Ethiopia–Somalia war were martyred for the sake of their second homeland. According to reports from Fana Broadcasting Corporation, the Ethio-Cuban Friendship Square was built as a memorial to those Cuban soldiers.

African Boxing Confederation

Eyasu Wosen, the current President of the Ethiopian Boxing Federation has been unanimously elected as the African Boxing Confederation President. The election took place during the 47th Annual General Assembly held at the African Union Conference Hall in Addis Ababa. Mr. Eyasu was elected president by beating the Cameroonian candidate Bertrand Menduga and the Moroccan Mohammed Bodir. This makes Mr. Eyasu the second Ethiopian to lead an African sports organization, after the former CAF president, Yidnekachew Tesema, Fana Broadcasting Corporation reported.

Ethiopian Airlines - Rolls-Royce MoU

Ethiopian Airlines and Rolls-Royce have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a TotalCare maintenance agreement covering 22 Trent XWB engines that exclusively power the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. The TotalCare service agreement is designed to provide operational certainty for Ethiopian Airlines by transferring time on wing and maintenance cost risk back to Rolls-Royce, according to Fana Broadcasting Corporation reports. The MoU will complement the airline’s existing fleet of 40 Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 engines.
