Representatives of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the first African Airlines passenger plane on the runway of Port Sudan International Airport on March 6, 2024.

This comes after the cessation of flights between the two countries since April 2023 as a result of the armed conflict that broke out in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

The Director of Airports and Director of the Air Transport Authority in Sudan, members of the diplomatic mission to Sudan, the African Airlines coordination office in Port Sudan, and employees from the Khartoum International Airport administration were also present to receive the flight.
