The global push for renewable energy is expected to remain strong despite former U.S. President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement, according to Celeste Saulo, head of the United Nations' World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Saulo expressed confidence in the global momentum toward green energy investments. "I believe that many countries will continue moving in the direction of green energy," she stated during the event, held in the renowned Swiss ski resort town.

Saulo’s remarks come as international leaders emphasise the critical need to combat climate change, with many countries doubling down on renewable energy initiatives to meet their commitments under the Paris accord.
