Israel's Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Tuesday that fresh Israeli strikes that have killed hundreds of Palestinians were not a "one-day attack" and that the military operation in Gaza would continue in the coming days.

Saar, who was speaking at a meeting with the powerful pro-Israel lobby group AIPAC in Jerusalem, said the United States had been given advance warning of the Israeli strikes and that it supported them.
