A Kenyan court has sentenced Jacktone Odhiambo to 50 years in prison for the murder of LGBTQ activist Edwin Chiloba. Chiloba, a prominent gay rights campaigner, was found dead in January 2023, his body was discovered in a metal box near Eldoret. The court found Odhiambo, Chiloba's housemate and lover, guilty of the crime, which has drawn significant attention to the challenges faced by the LGBTQ community in Kenya.
