Kenyan ‘serial killer’ who allegedly murdered 42 women escapes police custody: Video
Suspected Kenyan serial killer, Collins Jumaisi, who is accused of dismembering the bodies of 42 women, has escaped from police custody.
The breakout occurred at a Nairobi police station on August 12, where Jumaisi was held alongside 12 undocumented Eritrean migrants, according to police authorities.
The escape was discovered during a routine check at around 5:00 AM (02:00 GMT) when officers arrived to serve breakfast to the detainees. “On opening the cell door, they found that 13 prisoners had escaped by cutting the wire mesh in the basking bay,” the police said in a statement, referring to the area where detainees get access to fresh air, as reported by Al Jazeera.
Jumaisi, 33, described by authorities as a "vampire, a psychopath," was initially arrested on July 15 after the discovery of mutilated bodies in a garbage dump within a Nairobi slum.
The suspect reportedly confessed to the killings of 42 women since 2022, including his wife. Police investigations are now underway to recapture the fugitive and return him to custody, AFP reported.
