Stolen vehicles

The Ministry of Interior of the National Unity Government has announced the seizure of three stolen cars in Sabratha and the seizure of three others in Tarhuna and Qarabulli. According to the ministry, the seizure was done within 24 hours using the unified security inquiry system. The Ministry of Interior has said that all legal measures must be taken regarding the vehicles before their referral to competent authorities, local news outlet Afrigate reported.

Aftermath of Derna floods

A member of the Derna Crisis Committee, Hamad Al-Shalawi has reported that the number of damaged housing units in the city which was destroyed by floods in September has reached 15,000 units. Lybian media outlet, Almarsad reported that the number of affected people who have been compensated is about 4,000 with monies that are insufficient to buy a small apartment.

Business cooperation

The Lybian-Italian Economic Forum is expected to be held in Rome on December 6. The event will see the participation of companies from both countries under the slogan, ‘‘Libya and Italy: We grow together’’. According to the Lybia Herald, the forum aims to launch a new phase of trade exchange and economic cooperation, enhance, and develop economic exchange between both countries, and solve the obstacles facing businessmen in Lybia and Italy.

Return of detainees

Lybia is expected to receive some 263 Bangladeshi citizens as part of an initiative to gradually return all detainees to their country. In a weekly press conference, the Bangladeshi Foreign Ministry said that the country will gradually return the detainees, Libya Observer reported. Already some 143 were returned on November 28 and another 110 on November 30.

Education

A new school with a capacity of 1,200 students has been established in the Brak Al-Shati municipality. Local news platform Afrigate reported that the school consists of 20 classrooms, administrative and service offices and 3 study laboratories. It also has a capacity of 1,200 students and is part of the Future Schools Project launched by the National Unity Government.
