Lightning hits British Airways plane moments before takeoff in Brazil: Video

Bernhard Warr, a traveller on British Airways, captured the moment lightning struck the plane he would be flying home in on Friday while he was waiting for his flight.

The aircraft was parked at a gate at Sao Paulo's International Guarulhos Airport on Friday, January 24, when the lightning struck its tail.

Warr stated that following the incident, the British Airways aircraft, which was bound for London, was relocated for safety inspections.

The plane left nearly six hours after it was supposed to take off after minor damage was fixed, he added.
