Mysterious serial events unfold at Swiss Embassy in Tehran, prompting investigations
A series of perplexing incidents targeting employees of the Swiss Embassy in Tehran has raised concerns, with the latest event involving a knife attack on an embassy visa department employee, as reported by a Swiss publication on Monday, December 4th.
According to the report, the most recent incident occurred in September, where an embassy employee narrowly survived a knife attack on his way to work.
The Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the event, stating that the injured employee returned to work after recovering from hand injuries. Iranian authorities are currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the matter.
Earlier in June, a Swiss citizen and defense attaché of the embassy were discovered with severe injuries in a Tehran hotel room.
The defense attaché had sustained injuries to his head, knees, chest, and abdomen. The military spokesperson for Switzerland confirmed the incident, explaining that the attaché fell unconscious during a business trip, was treated in a Tehran hospital, and later returned to Switzerland after recovery.
In May 2021, a Swiss diplomat named Sylvie Brunner, the first secretary of the embassy responsible for protecting American interests in Iran, tragically fell from the balcony of her 17th-floor apartment in Tehran.
The circumstances surrounding her death sparked speculation and raised suspicions, leading to an ongoing investigation by the Swiss Federal Prosecutor's Office.
Rumors circulated, with many questioning the nature of Brunner's death, as it seemed unlikely to be a suicide.
The report reveals that the Federal Prosecutor's Office has been investigating her case for over two years, conducting forensic examinations to determine the circumstances surrounding her untimely demise.
While suspicions of an unusual death persist, exact details from the investigations have not yet been disclosed.
The mysterious series of events has heightened concerns about the safety of Swiss Embassy personnel in Tehran.
