Some political Thai groups are asking for the removal of their newly appointed Prime Minister (PM).

This comes barely three weeks after her appointment, as Prime Minister.

38-year-old Paetongtarn Shinwatra became Thailand’s youngest-ever PM and secured parliamentary support on August 16, barely two days after her predecessor, Srettha Thavisin was ousted.

Srettha was sacked after a court ruled he violated the constitution by appointing to his cabinet, an individual that lacked moral integrity.

Shinwatra faces several legal complaints filed by political activists and rivals. The complaints with the Election Commission accuse the PM of breaching ethical standards and being influenced by her father and former premier Thaksin Shinawatra.

These allegations, according to the Thailand Business News, have the potential to lead to the dissolution of her Pheu Thai Party and possible removal from office.

The development is a sign of the political uncertainty and deep political division in Thailand.
