North Korean state media, KCNA, has issued a strong critique of the United States for its nuclear submarine deal with Australia, part of the AUKUS partnership, signed in 2021.

In a commentary published February 20, North Korea referred to the agreement as a "threat to regional peace" and warned of the potential consequences of what it described as nuclear alliances, specifically mentioning AUKUS and the trilateral cooperation between the U.S., South Korea, and Japan.
