Russia has yet to receive agreement for new ambassador to US, senior diplomat says

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Saturday Moscow had not yet received agreement from Washington for its new ambassador to the United States, the RIA state news agency reported.
The last Russian ambassador to the U.S., Anatoly Antonov, left his post in October.
On Tuesday, during the first Russia-U.S. talks on ending the war in Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said high-level teams would work to restore the countries' respective diplomatic missions in Washington and Moscow to ease the discussions going forward.
