The first Executive Committee of the Qatar-Saudi Coordination Council convened in Doha, presided over by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

The said meeting underscored the shared commitment to fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between the two nations.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan expressed the consensus on elevating expectations and creating innovative solutions to strengthen bilateral ties.

"We are optimistic that we are ready to present an ambitious program that would satisfy the expectations of the leadership of both countries,” Farhan said.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar welcomed the Saudi delegation, and discussions centered on the activities of the council's secretariat team, reviewing preparatory works and assessing the outputs of the sub-committees established in previous periods.

The meeting set the stage for the signing of memorandums of understanding during the upcoming session of the Saudi-Qatar Coordination Council.

Both sides acknowledged the cooperative efforts and coordination between the sub-committees and workgroups of the council secretariat, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration to meet the expectations of their respective leaderships and safeguard the interests of both nations.

The meeting served as a prelude to the seventh session of the council, with the heads of the executive committee expressing their appreciation for the ongoing coordination.

The Saudi Foreign Minister's visit to Doha aligns with his participation in the 158th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) hosting foreign ministers, preparing for the upcoming 44th summit meeting scheduled for Tuesday.
