The actor was kidnapped by a scam gang and later found in Myanmar with his head shaved. His case and other disappearances have raised safety concerns for visitors.

The app, called "Thailand Tourist Police," offers tourists a quick way to contact police during emergencies.

It allows users to send messages, photos, and locations directly to the authorities. The app, launched in December 2024, supports eight languages and connects to a 24-hour helpline.

In emergencies, tourists can press the red “SOS” button to get immediate help from local police.

So far, around 1,000 reports have been made through the app, including 200 emergency calls in one day. Most issues reported involve accidents, crimes, and immigration matters.

The country is also working with foreign embassies to improve border security and fight online scams.
