Egypt-UAE partner on renewable energy project

Egypt and the UAE plan to bring 4 GW of renewable energy onto the grid by next summer. They emphasized the importance of renewable energy for Egypt's future energy needs and discussed plans for localizing industries related to renewable energy. Both countries are committed to expanding their renewable energy partnership to address energy demands and develop sustainable solutions, Daily News Egypt reported.

Medical supply

UAE sends 3 tonnes of medical supplies and medicines to the Gaza Strip following recent developments in Khan Younis. Emirates News Agency indicated that the aid aims to support the healthcare sector and hospitals facing shortages after the war. Total assistance sent by UAE to the Gaza Strip reaches 337 tonnes.

UAE-Japan cooperation

UAE and Japan are discussing ways to expand cooperation in the fields of food security and climate-smart agriculture. The two countries also prioritise climate change adaptation and climate finance at COP29. The UAE has invited Japan to attend the World Food Security Summit and participate in agriculture, environment, and climate change meetings, Emirates News Agency reported.

Appointment of deputy prime ministers

The UAE has announced a significant cabinet reshuffle, with Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah being appointed as deputy prime ministers by Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed. According to the Express Tribune, The reshuffle aims to bring fresh perspectives and enhance transparency in governance, with the inclusion of women in key roles representing progress towards greater gender equality in the region.
