Australia, a key U.S. security ally, reaffirmed its strong support for Ukraine on February 20, stating that Russia is the aggressor in the ongoing conflict and that the war must be resolved on Kyiv's terms.

Australia has already provided A$1.5 billion in aid to Ukraine to help in its battle against Russia’s invasion, which began in 2022.

The statement came as former U.S. President Donald Trump escalated his criticism of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy. On Wednesday, Trump labeled Zelenskiy a "dictator" and warned that the Ukrainian leader must act quickly to secure peace or risk losing his country.
