Vietnam's party chief To Lam wants to enhance cooperation with China in diplomacy, defence, security and infrastructure connectivity, according an article by the Vietnamese leader published in Chinese state media on Monday.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to make a state visit to Vietnam from April 14 to 15 as part of a trip to Southeast Asia.

Lam said Vietnam considered three rail links with China as its highest priority in strategic infrastructure cooperation with Beijing.
