Zimbabwe is boosting its tourism and business sectors by introducing an eVisa on arrival for visitors from 118 countries.

The initiative is designed to streamline the visa application process, which will allow eligible travellers to apply online before their journey. This means no more long waits at embassies or consulates.

The eVisa on arrival is available to tourists and business travellers from 118 countries, including many from Europe, North America, and Asia. This broad eligibility is expected to attract a diverse range of visitors, eager to experience Zimbabwe's unique offerings.

Zimbabwe's visa system is divided into three categories, each tailored to specific nationalities with distinct requirements including:

  • Visitors in Category A do not need a visa to enter Zimbabwe and can submit an online declaration before their trip.
  • Category B includes those not required to obtain a visa before travelling but must pay for and acquire a visa upon entry; they can also submit an online declaration in advance.
  • Category C comprises visitors who must obtain a visa before travelling to Zimbabwe, necessitating payment before arrival.

The validity of a Zimbabwe visa depends on its type. A tourist visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance, while visit and business visas are generally valid for 30 days. Visas on arrival are granted at the port of entry, with the duration specified at the time of issuance.

Until now, foreign nationals from the 118 countries and territories required to obtain a visa on arrival have not been able to apply for an eVisa before their travel.
