Canadian Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc on Wednesday said he would not run in the race to be leader of the ruling Liberal Party in the wake of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's announcement he was stepping down.

In a statement, LeBlanc said he wanted to focus on his job and the task of trying to persuade the incoming U.S. administration not to got through with a promise to impose tariffs on imports from Canada.
