Charlie Kirk: Utah officials share footage of gunman fleeing campus rooftop - Video
Authorities in Utah have released surveillance footage of the gunman suspected of fatally shooting conservative commentator Charlie Kirk during a university event on Wednesday.
The video, published on Thursday, September 11, by the Utah Department of Public Safety, shows the suspect sprinting across the roof of a campus building before leaping to the ground and escaping into a nearby neighbourhood. Earlier images had captured him wearing a shirt emblazoned with an American flag and eagle.
Public Safety Commissioner Beau Mason described the gunman as “college age” and confirmed that investigators recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle believed to have been used in the attack.
Kirk, 31, was shot while addressing an audience at the campus and later died in the hospital.
Police have urged the public to remain vigilant as the manhunt continues. No arrests have been made.
