French tourist Augustin Gus was shopping for a t-shirt in one of Bangkok’s bustling malls when a powerful earthquake sent shockwaves through the Thai capital.
“Just as I stepped out of the elevator, the ground started shaking. At first, I thought it was just me… but it wasn’t,” the 23-year-old told AFP.
Panic quickly spread as shoppers realised what was happening. “Everyone was screaming and running, so I started screaming as well,” Gus recalled.
The sudden tremor left tourists and locals in shock, with many fleeing buildings in fear.
