On Monday, February 17, South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola said that the U.S. has not responded to attempts to discuss President Trump’s aid cutoff, while China has pledged support. Trump halted U.S. financial aid this month, citing opposition to South Africa’s land reform policy and its genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
