Former French President François Hollande has urged Europe to take a strong stand against U.S. President Donald Trump's "aggression" over European customs duties, emphasizing that the response must "hurt him, hurt him badly." Hollande stated that in the face of Trump's "commercial offensive," the European Union must be "very firm, very tough" and must not hesitate to counter his tariff threats. His remarks come after Trump, on Wednesday, February 26, threatened to impose a 25% tariff on goods imported from the European Union, escalating tensions between Washington and its European allies.
