France to deploy 25,000 police officers for Paris paralympic games security

France will mobilise a total of 25,000 police officers, including specialised forces, to ensure the security of the Paris Paralympic Games, scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 8.

The announcement was made by Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, who outlined the extensive security measures planned for the event.

"So, the peak will be 25,000 police officers, in Île-de-France and in Châteauroux, where the shooting events will take place, as you know. We will have the support of three intervention forces: the GIGN, the RAID and the BRI, who will work together, as they did during the Olympic Games," Darmanin stated. He added that the deployment will be supported by three elite intervention forces - GIGN, RAID, and BRI - who successfully collaborated during the Olympic Games.

In addition to the police presence, 600 specialised forces will be mobilised throughout the Games, particularly during the opening ceremony in central Paris. Over 10,000 private security guards will also be involved in the overall security efforts.
