Leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council concluded their meeting, stating that the Al-Dara gas field, contested by Iran as the Arash field, is situated entirely in the "territorial waters of Kuwait" and is jointly owned by Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

Iran responded, highlighting previous talks with Kuwait and emphasizing "friendly and constructive cooperation."

The gas field, located in Bushehr province, Iran, and the eastern coasts of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, holds significant gas reserves.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait claim exclusive rights, while Iran insists on protecting its interests. The GCC urged Iran to respect sovereignty, avoid interference, and resolve disputes peacefully.

The GCC also expressed concerns about Iran's nuclear case, demanding cooperation with the IAEA and addressing regional security issues, including ballistic missiles and drones.
