Ali Larijani, a senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has reaffirmed Tehran’s strong backing for Hezbollah, Lebanon's government during a visit to war-torn Lebanon.

In a statement to the press following a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Larijani declared Iran’s unwavering support for the Lebanese resistance group, Hezbollah, and their decisions.

"We support and stand by any decision made by the Lebanese resistance [Hezbollah] or the Lebanese government," Larijani was quoted by the AFP.

"Hezbollah is a solid and rational movement, and the Lebanese are great people. Hezbollah [leaders] know how to act. As we have stated, we will support the resistance in all circumstances," he added.
