Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar said on Monday that there has been "certain progress" in efforts to reach a ceasefire in Lebanon following an Israeli military operation targeting Hezbollah.

In remarks to reporters in Jerusalem, Saar confirmed that Israel is working closely with the United States to address the ongoing conflict.

The operation, which escalated tensions with Hezbollah, has prompted calls from the international community for a de-escalation. While Saar did not provide further specifics, his comments indicated that diplomatic channels are being pursued to halt the violence.

"We are working with the Americans on the issue," AFP quoted Saar.
