Lagos Fashion Week showcases bold local designs and cultural pride: Video

Nigeria’s capital city, Lagos, lit up with colour, creativity, and culture as designers, models, and artists converged to celebrate Nigerian fashion at a recent runway showcase.

The event attracted fashion icons and celebrities, including actor Prince Nelson, who said his outfit was inspired by a daring Instagram look made by a women’s brand. “I'm always bold with fashion,” he added.

Fashion designer Aisha Thaddeus also told Viory that her style blends traditional fabrics like Aso-Oke and Ankara into wearable, globally appealing designs. “We bring something radiant,” she said, explaining her mix of Nigerian textures.

Actor Kiki Festus praised Nigeria's innovative spirit, saying, “We're putting our country on the map.” Tech expert Joshua Peresi echoed the sentiment, calling Lagos “a hub for creativity.”
