Low-pressure area dissipates; shear line and northeast monsoon to usher in rainfall on All Souls' Day

The low-pressure area (LPA) that was present over the northeastern part of the Philippines dissipated Wednesday night.

However, the northeastern monsoon (Amihan) and a shear line will continue to bring rainfall to mainland Luzon on All Souls' Day, according to the Philippine weather bureau, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA said no other weather disturbances are currently being monitored across the country.

The weather bureau also warned that flash floods and landslides remain a concern in these regions during periods of moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall.

Concurrently, the northeast monsoon will result in overcast skies with rain in the remaining parts of Northern Luzon.

For Metro Manila and other areas in the country, the forecast includes partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms expected in the afternoon or evening.

Northern Luzon is expected to experience improving weather conditions as the weekend approaches.
