Moment apartment block collapses as powerful earthquake rocks Bangkok: Video

An under-construction apartment block in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district collapsed after a powerful earthquake struck the capital at noon. Workers scrambled for safety as debris fell around them.

Officials reported that the earthquake had a shallow depth of 10 kilometres, with its epicentre in neighbouring Myanmar. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed the quake measured 7.7 in magnitude and was followed by a strong aftershock.
