Ghana has been selected as the focal point of one of the world’s largest creator-led humanitarian initiatives, after American YouTube star MrBeast announced plans to build an entire village in the country as part of his global “1 Billion Acts of Kindness” project.

The initiative, unveiled at the 1 Billion Followers Summit in Dubai, drew more than 177,000 submissions from creators worldwide, with only ten selected to take part in the mission. These creators, alongside a group of well-known global influencers, will travel to Ghana to help develop a community aimed at meeting long-term needs such as education, clean water and basic infrastructure.

MrBeast, whose content reaches more than one billion followers across platforms, said the project is designed to turn online influence into tangible impact. Rather than focusing on follower numbers alone, participants were chosen for their commitment to social good and community-driven ideas.

The country has become increasingly visible on the global stage, attracting international attention for projects that combine philanthropy, storytelling and youth engagement. Local creators, including Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya, have been invited to participate.

The village project will be fully documented and shared across MrBeast’s platforms.
