Protesters rally in Caracas over Maduro’s detention: Video
Hundreds of supporters of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro marched through central Caracas on Saturday, January 10, calling for his release and that of First Lady Cilia Flores following their capture during a US military operation on 3 January.
Demonstrators rejected Washington’s description of the operation as a targeted action, instead portraying it as an attack on the country as a whole. Marchers said the detention of the Venezuelan leader amounted to foreign intervention and insisted that Maduro remained their legitimately elected president.
