Saudi Arabia has inaugurated the Jeddah Food Cluster, officially recognised by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the largest food park in the world by area.

The project, located in Jeddah’s second and third industrial cities, is a significant step toward transforming the city into a global business hub, with a targeted investment of SR20 billion ($5.3 billion).

Spanning 11 million square meters, the development is expected to generate over 43,000 jobs, boosting both local and national economic growth, as reported by Arab News.

The opening ceremony, held on November 24, was led by Prince Saud bin Mishal, a member of the ruling royal family of Saudi Arabia and attended by high-ranking Saudi officials, including Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef,

Speaking at the event, Alkhorayef highlighted the strategic importance of the cluster.

“Through this cluster, we aim to leverage the ministry’s capabilities to serve Jeddah, the Kingdom’s economic hub, and a prime investment destination,” he said, emphasising its role as more than just an industrial project.

The Jeddah Food Cluster is expected to enhance food security, develop robust food value chains, and position the Kingdom as a regional hub for both domestic and international investment in the food sector.

The Saudi government has made huge investments in various sectors as part of its ambitious Vision 2030, which aims to diversify the country's economy, society, and culture.

Earlier in November, the government unveiled a $100 billion initiative, Project Transcendence, aimed at bolstering artificial intelligence, data analytics, and advanced technology.
