Secret tunnel between Morocco and Spain found in drug smuggling bust

Spanish police have discovered an underground tunnel linking Morocco to the Spanish territory of Ceuta.
Authorities believe the tunnel was used to smuggle drugs into Spain.
The tunnel was found during a police search of a warehouse in Ceuta. It runs about 12 metres underground and stretches several dozen metres in length.
Reports suggest it may extend at least 50 metres into Moroccan land, but investigators are still working to determine its full size. The tunnel was reinforced with wood, making it strong enough for smuggling operations.
The discovery was part of a police crackdown on drug trafficking known as Operation Hades. Over the past three weeks, authorities have arrested 14 people, including two police officers, and seized 6,000 kilos of hashish.
Ceuta is a major gateway for drugs moving from North Africa into Europe. Smugglers often use creative ways to bypass security, and this tunnel shows the lengths they will go to avoid getting caught.
Police are now investigating whether the tunnel was used for other illegal activities and how long it has been in operation.
