Security collaboration between the West African trade bloc ECOWAS and Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, who have now officially left the bloc, "will continue", says ECOWAS commission president, Omar Alieu Touray.

"It is in our collective interest to work together in all areas, including in the area of security," Touray tells a press conference in Nigeria's capital Abuja where ECOWAS' headquarters is located.
