Sudanese school gives students a second chance at education in war: Video

In a modest classroom in Port Sudan, men and women sit on worn wooden benches, eyes fixed on a faded blackboard, as their teacher writes in Arabic.
Among them are students who once thought education was beyond their reach.
Leading the class is Amna Mohamed Ahmed, a 63-year-old educator who has spent three decades helping hundreds regain access to learning. "To watch someone go from not knowing how to read or write to graduating from university, getting a job, and supporting their family—it's incredible," she says.
Ahmed’s school provides a second chance for those who missed out on formal education, especially women who were denied schooling due to cultural or financial barriers.
In a country torn by conflict, her work has helped uplift several young people in her community.
