Thailand is bringing in a new rule for people visiting the country.

From May 1, every foreign traveller must fill out a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before entering, regardless of whether they are arriving by land, sea, or air.

All foreign visitors must complete the form online within three days before arrival.

The TDAC is free to apply for and does not follow the same processes for visa acquisition.

Travellers will need to give personal information like their passport number, job, phone number, and details about where they will stay in Thailand to apply, as well as answer questions about their health.

After sending in the form, travellers will get an email with a QR code which they must show when they arrive in Thailand. Without this card, no foreign traveller will be allowed to enter.

The Thai government says this new system will make entering the country faster, safer, and easier. "We want to make travel into Thailand smoother and more secure for everyone," officials said.

To get the TDAC, travellers must go to the official website and fill out the form. If a traveller has been to a high-risk area recently, they will need to fill out extra health information. It is also possible to add the names of people travelling together.
