Thousands protest as Pakistan condemns killing of Hezbollah leader: Video
Thousands of people protested in several cities across Pakistan on Sunday, September 29 after Hezbollah confirmed that its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon.
The group announced that he died in an attack on Beirut's southern suburbs, a significant loss for Hezbollah.
In Islamabad, around 4,000 demonstrators gathered, while 3,000 participated in rallies and funeral prayers in Karachi, organized by Shiite Muslim groups, according to AFP reports.
Nasrallah's killing escalates the ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, which has seen nearly a year of cross-border tensions.
Hezbollah has engaged in low-intensity strikes against Israeli forces since Hamas launched a historic attack on October 7, resulting in over 1,200 deaths, mostly civilians. Israel's military response has led to at least 41,595 fatalities in Gaza, with most victims also civilians, according to figures from the Hamas-run health ministry. The UN has confirmed the reliability of these numbers.
