Venezuela's government plans a $22.7 billion budget for next year, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez announced to lawmakers at the National Assembly on Tuesday. This represents an increase of nearly 11% from this year's $20.5 billion budget. Contributions from the state-run oil company PDVSA are expected to decrease by 14.6% next year. According to the budget bill, income from PDVSA, through sales and taxes, will cover 53% of the government's spending needs, amounting to $10.1 billion, based on the exchange rate calculated by Venezuela's central bank.
