'We are tired': Residents of cyclone-ravaged Mayotte react after fresh flood disaster - Video

Just weeks after Cyclone Chido caused significant devastation, Storm Dikeledi hit the French Indian Ocean territory of Mayotte with severe flooding and mudslides.

The continuous heavy rains and violent winds have led to widespread damage, prompting authorities to issue a red alert.

Many residents are understandably exhausted and overwhelmed by the repeated natural disasters.

Assidjadi, a resident of Mronabéja told AFP "Frankly, we're all tired. Right now, we're all going into the houses of grannies, grandpas, brothers, and sisters to help clean up. As you can see, our aunts, sisters, and cousins are there. We're all there together, cleaning up. But then what happens? From the mayors, from the people. What happens? Even the water, even the water. They don't have to turn off the water. Now we have to clean the house. How do we do that? We have to go to the river. But... It's exhausting. Honestly, we don't know what to say. It's exhausting. We're so tired."
