'We'll never accept humiliation from gringo empire,' Maduro tells US: Video

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has criticised the United States over its military presence in the Caribbean, calling it a “worldwide disgrace” and accusing Washington of aggression against his country.

Speaking on national television Monday, Maduro denounced the reported deployment of a U.S. nuclear submarine in the region, saying it was aimed at intimidating “peaceful people.”

“It has been a disgrace to place a nuclear submarine aimed at peaceful people, thinking these people will tremble,” Maduro said.

The Venezuelan president also delivered a defiant message to his own citizens and the wider international community.

“No one is going to humiliate Venezuela. We will not accept the humiliation from the gringo empire. We will never accept the humiliation from the gringo empire. Never,” he added.

The comments come at a time of renewed friction between Caracas and Washington, with U.S. officials maintaining that Venezuela continues to pose regional security challenges, while Maduro frames the standoff as an existential struggle for sovereignty.
