Japan ex-FX chief Kanda appointed special adviser to PM Kishida

Japan appoints former top currency diplomat Masato Kanda as special adviser to the cabinet, government spokesperson Yoshimasa Hayashi said on Thursday.

Kanda is tasked to advise Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on international financial trends, Hayashi, chief cabinet secretary, said.

Atsushi Mimura on Wednesday succeeded Kanda as the vice finance minister for international affairs, the top government position in charge of currency policies.
